I saw this article via nytimes.com, and felt it summed up a lot of what I've been feeling in the recent weeks. When the unexpected pitfalls of day-to-day life hit, I generally curse the heavens for providing no warning. Which is probably nothing more than a really good way to become an embittered old woman. Perhaps it's better to try to welcome what's uncertain, to be thankful for it, and to actively live through the questions...not just unsuccessfully avoid them.

Quote of the moment....
I am not going to sit on my ass as the events that affect me unfold to determine the course of my life. I'm going to take a stand. I'm going to defend it. Right or wrong, I'm going to defend it.
